Dawnie Walton

Dawnie Walton is the author of The Final Revival of Opal & Nev, winner of the Aspen Words Literary Prize, the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award, the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, and the Audie Award for Fiction. Her debut was also longlisted for the 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction, and named one of Barack Obama’s favorite books of 2021. Her second novel, These Girls Out Here, is due in summer 2027 from Pamela Dorman Books/Viking. She is an assistant professor of creative writing at Stony Brook University, and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
